The popular and top leading contender in the race for Lugard house come November 21, Alhaji Yahaya Bello Fairplus, has yesterday, urged his media and campaign teams to shun the insults directed at him by Prince Abubakar Audu.
This was contained in a statement issued out his media aide, Prince Abdulkareem as a response to the "rabble rouser" outburst made by Audu on him through his media aide, Suleiman Abdulmalik.
Bello said that the current position of the state is beyond exchange of tantrum on the media and thereby requires urgent attention by young and visionary leaders.
"I am too busy on more pressing issues than pestering myself with brags on the media. This is no longer the Kogi of over ten years ago, which is why my media aides should not bother themselves with such vaunt," he said.
He added: "Audu is a great man but we are greater men who respect and value humanity no matter how lopsided or arrogant their opinions might be. We won't flog anyone's ignorance of us in public, because we believe we are all mortals not devoid of weaknesses."
On his alleged and viral defection to Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bello revealed that he is still a card carrying member of the All Progressives Party (APC) and has not made any public declaration of a swift to any other party.
However, he urged his supporters to stand strong and be patient with him as plans are on to give Kogi state what he tagged, "a safe landing."
